Barbara Burii Tent #24 of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865 will be having their tent meeting on October 10, 2015, at First Baptist Church, 123 E Main St., Owatonna at 10AM in the Social Hall.  At 1PM they will be having a guest speaker, Barry Adams. He will be doing a presentation on a Civil War Soldier from Medford.

Adams is a resident in Owatonna and has been a Civil War re-enactor. He previously lived in Pennsylvania in Berks County and did a lot of research on the 5,300 Civil War soldiers from there. Since moving to Owatonna, he has been researching the 730 Civil War soldiers that were from Steele County. He has spoken at more than 100 events, such as Civil War round tables and other meetings. He also is a retired guide for the Gettysburg National Park. Adams also is very active in the Steele Count Historical Society and recently served on the Board.
