A record number of exhibitor booths filled the gyms and auxiliary rooms at Triton High School in Dodge Center on Saturday for the 17th Dodge County Expo.

About 115 businesses and services were on display for the annual expo. This was the second year of the additional gym space at the school and the extra room made for easy access for the businesses and visitors. Booths were set up in three gyms and a multipurpose room. That left another room available for the Just For Kix dancers' performances that were held throughout the day.

The morning started with a $1 continental breakfast. Lunch was served later with proceeds going toward a new 4-H building on the Dodge County Fairgrounds.

Local businessman Gerry Fahning helped organize the original expo 16 years ago that highlighted Dodge Center businesses and included about 25 exhibitors. The event has grown to include all of the county and saw about a 10 percent increase in booths from last year.

Kat Kountry 105's Roy Koenig spoke with exhibitors from Kasson, West Concord, Hayfield and other cities that see this event as a great way to showcase their business and a nice social opportunity for the close-knit communities.
