The Minnesota State High School League adopts District Football scheduling plan for 2015 and beyond.

Owatonna will continue to play most of the teams from the Big Nine Conference in the newly named "Big Southeast" District. The district will include the current conference teams plus new teams Red Wing and Northfield, as well as New Prague. Albert Lea will go to a different district.

The rivalry between Blooming Prairie and NRHEG will end after 2014, as those two schools go to separate districts. They have played one another in recent years even though they play in different classes at playoff time. The Blossoms will be in the "Mid Southeast" while NRHEG goes to the 28-team "South Central" district. Medford will be part of Blooming Prairie's district.

...The League Board of Directors today unanimously adopted a plan that places all members schools with football programs into Districts. The members of each district will divide the district into sub-districts, and then create a full schedule for each team....
