According to KSTP.TV and the Dakota County Sheriff's office, the crash that killed 17-year-old Jacob Flynn and 18-year-old John Price was connected to a game played with Nerf guns. Sheriff Tim Leslie said this was based on witness accounts and Nerf guns were found at the scene of the crash.

Rogers said the game started at Lakeville South High School and ended a short time later at 225th with the rollover crash. The crash killed two of the four teenagers after the vehicle crossed to the other side of the road, rolled two to three times and landed upright. Those two teens were laid to rest this week.

Two other teens were injured in the crash, Mason Kohlbeck and driver Alex Hughes, who is still in critical condition. Information is still be gathered and confirmed about the accident. Authorities have not been able to talk to Hughes yet because of his injuries.

Leslie also said that alcohol and drugs were not a factor, and the roads were clean and not icy.

Officials with the Minnesota State Patrol say the crash reconstruction may take two to four months.
