If you live on the west side of Owatonna or west of Owatonna and need to travel east like for work in Rochester, you'll need to make an adjustment next week. The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced a daytime detour on Eastbound Highway 14. This will take place from 7AM till 7PM on August 8 and 9 in the eastbound lane through the current bridge replacement construction zone. Crews will be repairing the slope beyond the road that stabilizes and supports the road embankment. Motorists will need to cross Owatonna on Bridge Street heading east to 218 where you can then turn south for a mile or so and then get on Highway 14 East. The Highway 14 Westbound lane will not be affected.

Meanwhile here's good news for motorists who travel Highway 13 between New Richland and Waseca. The detour has been removed as the resurfacing project is now done.  You'll still need to be on the alert as crews will be finishing the striping and intersection work over the next two weeks.
