It sneaks up on you, doesn't it? Thanksgiving this week and then we kick off the holidays next week in Owatonna. The Steele County Historical Society will host Christmas in the Village Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1. Friday hours will be 4:30-8PM featuring the lavishly decorated Dunnell House, all set for Christmas. There will be holiday music in the parlor and a chance to visit with Santa. The General Store will open and ready for you to stop in and decorate some Christmas cookies. Cookies will be on sale as well. The Soup and Chili supper will be served from 4:30-6:30PM at the History Center for $8 with free admission to the History Center.

Christmas in the Village continues on Saturday from 10-2PM. One change this year is the cancellation of the Sons of Norway Meatball Supper.

Sunday, December 2 is the date for the Holiday Home Tour. Hours will be 12-5PM and feature 8 sites at 6 locations to check out. This year's tour includes 2 homes in the Claremont area as well. Maps will be on sale at the History Center and at the homes. We'll take a closer looked at the home tour on Wednesday, November 28 on our Talk of the Town on AM 1390 starting at 9:40AM.
