Blooming Prairie junior Taylor Christianson shot an 81 Tuesday at the state Class A golf tournament in Becker. She is in fourth place, three shots out of first place.

Christianson is at her third state tournament. She finished in a tie for 12th last year. Boys play was suspended by thunderstorms at Pebble Creek and will resume Wednesday. The Blooming Prairie boys are at state as a team for the first time. Jon Hatch completed his round with an 84. Jake Ressler shot 86 and Ethan Strunk carded a 91. Tommy Braaten and Lucas Noble were still golfing when the weather forced a postponement. The Class A tournament was the least affected by rain, with about 40 boys yet to complete their first round.

In Class AA at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan no boys finished their opening round. Triton senior Jaden Thiemann is playing at state for the fourth time.

The Class AAA at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids also experienced bad weather. The girls did complete their first round, with Edina leading the team race by 19 strokes over Forest Lake. Red Wing is fourth, 22 shots out of first place.

Rain also affected the Owatonna American Legion doubleheader against New Prague at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park. The teams got the first game started but then heavy rain forced the action to be postponed.
