Change In Location for Land Rent Meeting Monday

The University of Minnesota Extension Service will be hosting two Fair Land Rental Workshops on Monday. One will be held in Le Center in the 4-H building on the Le Sueur County Fairgrounds starting at 9:30AM. The location for the one scheduled in Mankato on Monday afternoon has been changed. Diane DeWitte Extension Educator in Le Sueur County asked me to get the word out that the Land Rent workshop in Mankato at 1:30PM, will be held in the Blue Earth County library in the auditorium. The library is at 100 S. Main St. The meeting was previously scheduled for the Blue Earth Courthouse.

Ag Business management educator David Bau will discuss trends in historic and projected farmland rental rates and provide worksheets to help you figure out what is an affordable and fair rent that satisfies both the farmer and the land owner. You do not have to preregister and there is no cost. Land owners are also encouraged to attend too. If you would like more information, contact your local extension office.
