The Blooming Prairie boys' basketball team won a thriller over Maple River Friday night at BPHS 62-61 when Jake Ressler hit a three-pointer with three second left. Coach Nate Piller said the Awesome Blossoms had more than 15 second to run their offense after the Eagles had hit free throws to take the lead.

Owatonna boys' basketball will face one of the top players in the nation when Apple Valley comes to the OHS Thursday night for a 7:30PM game, which can be heard on KRFO AM1390. If you are going to the game, you should probably arrive early, as a big crowd is expected.

The Owatonna High School football team had many aspects of their state championship season to recognize during Sunday's banquet. Many individual and team records were set, many awards were earned, but most of all coach Jeff Williams said it was difficult to say goodbye to a special group of players.

The Owatonna boys' basketball team won its delayed season opener 85-48 at Albert Lea, building a 57-21 lead by halftime. The OHS girls also jumped out early on their way to a 72-52 win over the Tigers. The Huskies' gymnastics team scored a solid victory at Red Wing to begin their season.

The Owatonna boys' hockey team won its Big Nine Conference opener 5-1 Thursday night over Albert Lea at the Four Seasons Centre, while the OHS girls were slamming the Tigers 7-0 in Albert Lea.

Pinning and dunking were among the Owatonna sports highlights on Saturday. The Huskies wrestlers won the Faribault Invitational individual tournament to open their season. The first event for the OHS boys basketball team was their Husky Havoc exhibition.

A slam-dunking, three-point shooting fun time is expected Saturday, December 2 as the Owatonna basketball program hosts "Husky Havoc" at the high school gym. The evening will include elementary scrimmages, skills competitions and an introduction of the 2017-18 varsity boys basketball team.

Owatonna girls basketball coach Lindsey Hugstad-Vaa might feel a little deja vu when the Huskies take the floor against Farmington in Tuesday's season opener. The Tigers beat OHS in the section playoffs last season and return four players who scored in double figures in that 54-48 win. Owatonna returns all five starters from that game.
