The future has arrived for fans of the "Back to the Future" movies. Owatonna Parks and Recreation presents "Back to the Future 2" in Central Park Friday night July 17.

The Area Special Olympics softball tournament in Sunday July 12 at Alexander Park in Faribault. Volunteers are still needed.

The annual Battle of the Bands will open the evening grandstand entertainment on August 19 at the Steele County Fair in Owatonna. That will be followed by Drop Tailgate and Lost Highway.

Underhand pitching. No leading off base. No fielding gloves. Those are a few aspects of baseball in the 1860s. A vintage game between Owatonna and Rochester will be staged July 12 in Owatonna.

Youth 1st is partnering with the Owatonna Arts Center to create a mobile art experience. The 5k color dash will start in downtown Owatonna at 11AM on Saturday, July 25.

Whether it's raining or sunny, include the library in summer plans for the kids. Numerous events each week in Owatonna and Blooming Prairie. Generally, preregistration is not necessary.

The country music group Hitchville highlights the evening portion of Saturday's customer appreciation day at Walser Chevrolet of Owatonna. Family activities run noon to 4PM.

The Twins are bringing their youth baseball and softball clinic to Owatonna June 27 for boys and girls ages 6-16. It starts at 9AM at the Manthey Park Diamonds.

Author Bob Showers will be in Owatonna on Thursday to make a presentation on his book, The Twins at the Met. The historical society will host this at 7PM at the History Center on June 11.

Little Theatre of Owatonna presents Mel Brooks comedy "The Producers." The play runs June 18-27 at the West Hills Auditorium.
