It was an exciting game Thursday night in Lyle as the 17-7 No. 3 seed Lyle Pacelli Athletics took on the No. 6 seed Bethlehem Academy Cardinals.

The Cardinals controlled the lead for most of the first half and lead 20-19 at halftime. The lead changed numerous times -- the Cardinals a couple of times had a six-point lead -- but the Athletics kept coming back. It all came down to the Cardinals needing to hit a three-point shot at the end, and Jack Clark's shot came up just short. Lyle won 57-54. Clark played his heart out all night though, and lead the team in scoring with 20 points. Lyle Pacelli will face Blooming Prairie in the sub-section semifinals Tuesday, Feb. 24 in Rochester.

The State Farm Insurance agents of Faribault Players of the game were Clark, who lead the scoring, and the five seniors, Devon McCarthy, Charles Kryzer, John Schoolmeesters, Jacob Becker and Peter Clark.
