Small town football isn't just football. It's friends and family. It's community. And the High School State Champions, the Caledonia Warriors showed us that this weekend!

First, Calediona STOMPED Pipestone (from our sister station, KFIL)...

The Caledonia Warriors dominated their way through the State Tournament and that didn’t change in the State Championship game. The Warriors defense was unbelievable, holding Pipestone to -11 yards of total offense in the 57-6 win.

Then, instead of heading home, they headed to the hospital. Not because one of the team was sick, but because one of the Caledonia Community was sick. First grader, Josiah Schroeder, has leukemia. He's been going thru treatment, and his face lit up when the team walked into his St Mary's room!

According to Ryan Pitt's Facebook post, Coach Freuchte gave Josiah the game ball, the team gave him high-fives, he got a State Championship medal from Owen King, and even got a picture with Isaac Fruechte (a wide receiver, used to play with the Vikings and is now a free agent)!

So, kudos to Caledonia, you brought joy to a young boy, your community, and to anyone that reads this story.

We're proud of you!

And Josiah, you're in our prayers, buddy, keep fighting!
