The Triton boys host a four-team tournament to open the basketball season November 20-21 with Blooming Prairie, Kenyon-Wanamingo and Schaeffer Academy playing in Dodge Center.

Nate Piller elevates to the head coaching spot in Blooming Prairie with John Bruns moving over to coach the girls' program this winter. The Blossoms graduated three players off last season's 16-11 team. On Saturday's KRFO coach show, Piller said there's good numbers through the program and some good height with the sophomore class.

Triton's new boys' coach is Zak Hanegraaf, who comes over from the Pine Island program. With just five combined seniors and juniors, he told KRFO that the team will be looking for contributions from sophomores and freshman. Hanegraaf expects to run an uptempo pace.

Medford boys' basketball will also open their season Friday, playing at St. Peter. NRHEG opens Saturday at Redwood Valley. Owatonna's opener comes Tuesday, November 24, at Mankato East.

The KRFO coach show can be heard each Saturday morning at 9AM with coaches from Owatonna, Blooming Prairie, NRHEG, Medford and Triton.
