I talked with Harvey Farr, the organizer of the fifth annual Blooming Prairie Cruise for a Cure. They take a different route each year. He makes the plans and starts calling ahead the areas that they will be going through about a month in advance.

This year they went north and west. The places they went included:

  • Medford
  • Waterville
  • St. Clair
  • Waldorf
  • New Richland

The cruisers made their way back to Blooming Prairie for supper.

There were about 30 riders from the area. Last year they raised about $1,400 for the Blooming Prairie Cancer Group.

The Blooming Prairie Cancer Group will have its auction in September and Paint the Town Pink in October.

Next on the docket will be the 16th annual B.O.B. Ride on Saturday, July 25. It is a benefit for Toys For Tots.

Riders are asked to donate a new and unused toy, or cash or checks made out to "Toys For Tots." Last year they made $8,000, with a total over the years of $150,000.

This year they will travel southeast near Harmony.
