Blooming Prairie Cancer Auction Begins Tonight
The annual Blooming Prairie Cancer Auction begins at 7PM Friday, Sept. 11, under the big top.
Items up for bids
- A trip for four to Disney World with a five-night stay
- About a dozen casino packages for Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa
- A 100th anniversary Harley-Davidson Steiff Bear
- A weekend on a houseboat for 10 near Fremont, Wis.
Take a look at the caption on the photo above. Do you know any Model A collectors? If so, pass the word as I doubt there can be too many 88-year-old newspapers featuring a full-page ad with picture and autograph of Henry Ford announcing the arrival of the new Ford Model A. This would look great in a frame for any Ford lover.
Activities on Saturday include the Cancer Memorial Run/Walk starting at the Field of Flags. You can get a $5 haircut from 9AM to 1PM during the Clip for the Cure. There also will be bingo from 4:30-6:30PM, with the Stix of Fury performing at 6:30PM. The second night of the auction begins at 7PM Saturday, Sept. 12.
