A benefit will be taking place for Alycia Gilbertson-Jeddeloh on Saturday, April 30, from 7-9PM at Reggie's Brewhouse, 218 N Cedar Ave., in Owatonna.

The event will include music by Strange Daze and a silent auction.

Having been diagnosed with adolescent scoliosis, Alycia will be undergoing major surgery that will insert two rods to create a ladder that will hold her spine in place.

From National Institute of Arthritis and Musculosketal and Skin Diseases (niams.com) website, Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine or backbone. People of all ages can have scoliosis. Depending on the doctors recommendations and the curvature of the spine, treatment would include observing, bracing (as depending on the type of curve) or surgery. This could correct or stop the curve from worsening as the patient grows.

This benefit is to raise money for the medical bill, plus the recovery and rehab that Alycia will be going through.
