Hampton, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension often sends out statewide alerts in missing person cases, but today the alert sent to law enforcement agencies and media outlets is for a stolen car.

It’s not just any car. Dakota County officials are looking for a mint condition “resto-rod” that was in an enclosed trailer that was taken from a property in Hampton Township on February 4th. Officials say the 1951 Chevy Coupe has great sentimental value to the family and the owner is most interested in getting it back.

For you gearheads, the black and fully restored classic includes an updated interior, wide whitewalls on chrome “half moon” wheels, and is powered by a newer “crate” engine, although the exact type and size of the powerplant are not listed. It was stored inside a 24-foot Haulmark trailer, which is also missing.

Anyone with information about the car is asked to contact the Dakota County Sheriff’s Department at 651-438-4700.
