Blooming Prairie and Triton High Schools have jumped aboard the Trap Shooting band wagon. Minnesota boasts over 6,000 student-athletes & 185 teams this spring.

Trap Shooting is the fastest growing high school sport in Minnesota. In 2008 there were three high school teams. In 2013 that number had ballooned to 114. Now, in 2014 there are 185 schools sponsoring a team. The numbers are impressive.

This year marks the first time the Minnesota State High School League will sponsor a state tournament. The league is supported by the MN Clay Target League, which also hosts a state tournament.

Blooming Prairie and Triton join local teams from N.R.H.E.G. and Medford in sponsoring a team. Kenyon-Wanimingo, Bethlehem Academy, W.E.M. and Kasson-Montorville also have teams. Only three Big Nine schools support a Trap Shooting team; FaribaultAustin and Northfield (conference team starting with the 2014-15 school year)See a full list of teams.
