I grew up on a farm outside Little Falls, Wi..What? There's a Little Falls, WI? Well, I could rattle off maybe 20 names of Steele County residents that have ties to this little place which is about the size of Steele Center. The world is a small place, isn't it? My radio travels have taken me all over Wisconsin from up in Park Falls to down in Madison along with a stop in Joplin, MO. I married an Ellendale High grad and she hauled me across the river over 20 years ago and I've been at KRFO/KAT KOUNTRY 105 since. My wife spends Sundays in the fall curled up on the couch watching the Vikings, while I sit in an old granary with my cat watching the Packers. I enjoy playing around in the garden and have been a member of the Antique Fan (electric) collectors for close to 20 years.

Talk of the Town: Fore the Paws Golf Tourney

Cathy Lindakugel of the Steele County Humane Society stopped by AM 1390 for Talk of the Town. The Society has their fundraising golf tournament on Saturday, May 16, at Brooktree Golf Course.

Owatonna Road Construction Update

Monday marks a busy day for road construction in the area. May 11 is the date that road crews will begin reconstructing the eastbound lanes of Highway 14 east of Owatonna. Traffic will remain head to head in the construction zone, but will be shifted from the old eastbound lanes to the new westbound lanes The Minnesota Department of Transportation also announces that the eastbound on-ramp to Highway 14 from Highway 218 will be closed

Engaged 4 Life Demonstration Times

The times for the demonstrations being offered at Engaged 4 Life are now set. The event runs 9AM to 1PM on May 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna.

Demonstrations are as follows:

  • Big and Loud, a new therapy program for Parkinson's offered by the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute will be at 9:20AM
  • Cooking for 1 or 2 by Hy-Vee Dietitian Tracy Bjerke will be at 10AM
  • Footwear for Diabetics from the Sterling Pharmacy Department will be at 10:40AM
  • How to Use Assisted Walking Devices by Owatonna Physical Therapy will be at 11:20AM

This year's guest speaker will be Jennifer West of FamilyMeans, who will address the topic: What should you be telling your family. A talk on how to initiate conversations abo
