Sad news today, as legendary film and stage actor Peter O'Toole has passed away in London at the age of 81. The Irish actor, who just announced his retirement last year, was known for his work in films like 'Lawrence of Arabia,' 'The Lion in Winter,' 'Goodbye Mr. Chips,' and the 2006 film 'Venus,' for which he was nominated for an Academy Award.
The holiday season is in full swing -- and so is winter. What better way to avoid the chill than by camping out indoors next to the warm glow of your television with some great movies? There's a whole new batch of titles headed to Netflix Instant, from modern classics to old favorites. Read on for our guide to the best movies coming to Netflix this December.
Yahoo! has debuted the trailer for 'Ride Along,' the new comedy from the director and producer of 'Think Like a Man.' The film pairs the comedy duo of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube as two mismatched guys -- a cop and his sister's boyfriend -- as they go on a crazy 24-hour ride along through the streets of Atlanta. Ice Cube, who also starred in '21 Jump Street,' plays the role of the cop -- obviously -- while Hart is his foil, a big-mouthed rookie desperate to prove his worth.
Marcia Wallace, whom many know best as the voice of Mrs. Edna Krabappel on the long-running Fox animated series 'The Simpsons,' has passed away at the age of 70. Wallace, who was also starred on the classic sitcom 'The Bob Newhart Show,' died just one week before her 71st birthday due to complications from breast cancer.
Coming on the heels of the unfortunate news that author Tom Clancy passed away last night, the first poster for 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' -- inspired by the character created by Clancy -- has been revealed. The poster for the film, which stars Chris Pine in the Ryan role, prominently features Clancy's name -- seems like a pretty fitting tribute to the late author.
Vin Diesel has been taking a page straight from his 'Fast Six' co-star Dwayne Johnson's playbook -- Johnson has been posting pics from the set of Brett Ratner's 'Hercules' all summer, and lately, Diesel has been giving us a peek at the crew on the set of 'Fast and Furious 7,' getting us ever-more excited for the upcoming seventh installment of the franchise. And this time, the gang's (mostly) all here!
Known for his work in the horror genre, James Wan has stepped behind the camera for something a little more action-packed with 'Fast and Furious 7.' We've gotten a peek at some of the interesting new cars being used in the film, but now star Vin Diesel is giving us a sneak preview of his own with these new photos of his character Dom (alongside co-star Paul Walker) on the set of the sequel.
Ever since the title 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' was revealed by Marvel and Joss Whedon at Comic-Con 2013 last month, there's been a lot of talk of how this epic villain will be handled for his big-screen translation. Now it seems we've gotten some (vague) answers from Whedon himself, who opened up about the difference between comic book Ultron and movie Ultron.
Ever since J.J. Abrams signed on to direct 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' it's been unclear whether he'd be available to return to the directing chair for 'Star Trek 3.' With Paramount angling for a 2016 release, and Disney pushing to get 'Episode 7' in theaters in 2015, there's no way Abrams could do both. But it looks like Paramount is looking at a replacement, and Jon M. Chu is supposedly at the top of their list.
