Area Deer Hunt Application Dates Approaching

Those interested in taking part in a couple of the area deer hunts have just a matter of days to apply. The River Bend Nature Center deer management hunt will be Nov. 7-10. This will be an archery-only hunt. Applications are available at River Bend's website, or stop at their office. Applicants must be current members of River Bend Nature Center. The application deadline is Monday, Sept. 14. Hunters will be notified by Sept. 18 as to whether they have been selected.

There is a mandatory orientation session at River Bend on Oct. 14.

The City of Owatonna will have a deer hunt in wooded areas of city parks this fall. The application fee to the City of Owatonna is $10. The deadline to apply is 4PM Tuesday, Sept. 15. Hunters may apply on Owatonna's city website. Two sets of 15 permits will be randomly awarded on Oct. 5 to those passing the proficiency test. Proficiency test dates are Sept. 26 and Oct. 3 at the 20 Rifle and Pistol Club in Medford.
