Undated (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting another holiday weekend traffic fatality.

It happened in northeast Minnesota around noon Sunday near the town of Tamarack and involved another motorist who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Killed was 32-year-old Nancy Demun-Hayes of Hamburg. The State Patrol says she was trying to make a U-turn when the SUV’s front passenger tire slipped into the ditch and it rolled. She was apparently ejected and died at the scene. A passenger - 12-year-old Dradin Hayes - was not wearing a seatbelt but wasn’t hurt.

Two fatal wrecks on Friday involved victims who were not wearing seatbelts.

The State Patrol has also released information on another fatal wreck that happened Friday in the Twin Cities. It happened in Arden Hills when a car turned in front of an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the car that was making the turn suffered fatal injuries. She was identified as 79-year-old Betty Lundeen of New Brighton. A passenger - 81-year-old Carl Lundeen of New Brighton - was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The other driver wasn’t hurt.

The State Patrol is reporting another fatality but it turned out to be medical-related. It happened around 6:45 PM Sunday in northeast Minnesota near Hibbing. The Patrol says a car driven by 35-year-old Dennis Dix of Hibbing went through the median of Highway 166, crossed the other lanes of traffic and came to rest in the ditch. Dix was taken to a nearby hospital but “suffered a fatal medical emergency, not due to crash injuries.” A passenger in the car - 25-year-old Tyler Norha of Hibbing - was not injured.
