The Merlin Players open their 20th season with a past hit, "Always, Patsy Cline." The production opens September 12 at the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault

The performance will once again feature Kim Schaufenbuel of Owatonna as Patsy and Tania Legvold of Northfield Louise Seeger. This show portrays the true story of the friendship between Patsy and Louise, a Houston housewife. The musical chronicles their relationship through the letters they wrote each other.

"This show was a sold out success six years ago and we like to bring back a past show for our anniversary seasons. This is the perfect way to kick off the 20th."

Skluzacek has gathered a band that is a mix of Patsy veterans and new comers. Terry Trinka (Faribault) on guitar, Kevin Mincke (Burnsville) on steel guitar and Mark Fischer (Northfield) on bass return to the show. Joining them are Owatonnans Nate Uptadel on drums and Herbie Rand on fiddle. Holding the group together in music director and keyboard player Sandy Brooks (Owatonna).

 

Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for 12-and-under. To order tickets call the Paradise Center for the Arts at 507-332-7372. Box office hours are noon-5PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and noon-8PM on Thursday. The box office opens one hour before all performances. Production dates are September 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 and 7:30pm with a Sunday September 14 matinee at 2:00pm.

 

The Merlin Players season also includes "The Santa Diaries," "Love, Loss and What I Wore," and "Nine."
