OHS senior Kaylea Ahrens recorded her 2,000th career dig Thursday night. The Huskies beat Mankato West. OHS boys & girls soccer and girls tennis all won too!

Ahrens, who has committed to play college volleyball at Augustana, a Division II school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, turns in 'highlight reel' digs almost every night for the Huskies. She already holds the school record for career digs. Thursday night she reached 2,000 digs in her career. The magic number came in the second set of a 3-0 sweep over Mankato West (25-8, 25-18, 25-15). The match was stopped briefly and she received a standing ovation. After the match coach Jason Kaytor presented her with a plaque.

Owatonna soccer scored a pair of wins over Faribault on Thursday. The boys prevailed with a pair of late second half goals for a 3-1 win. Edgar Esquivel scored all three Huskies goals....The OHS girls raced by the Falcons 8-2....Owatonna girls tennis scored a 6-1 win at Century.......OHS boys cross country finished second at the Farmington meet, behind the host team.

In local volleyball, Blooming Prairie swept USC 3-0........Faribault BA blanked W-E-M 3-0....Goodhue topped Hayfield 3-2....Northfield beat Red Wing 3-0.....Mayo swept Austin 3-0....Rochester JM beat Austin 3-1.
