The University of Minnesota Extension will hold free educational seminars at the Farm and Power Show in Owatonna on March 19-21 at the Four Seasons Centre on the Steele County Fairgrounds.

The extension service schedule includes seminars on Thursday and Friday, along with a booth on the trade show floor. Admission to the show is free. All seminars are open to the public and are also free of charge.

Thursday's seminar covers precision agriculture.

  • 1 p.m. Precision agriculture for the non-user
  • 2 p.m. Designing and analyzing your own on-farm research
  • 2:40 p.m. An update on the use of drones in agriculture
  • 3 p.m. Comparing precision agriculture software

Starting Friday at noon, the Minnesota Association of County Feedlot Officers will offer a training session for commercial manure applicators and livestock producers. Registration and lunch are free.

  • 1:35 p.m. Regulations and rules update
  • 2:20 p.m. How to develop a positive partnership with feedlot officers
  • 3 p.m. Discovery farms update

The public is encouraged to attend the free agriculture seminars at the Farm and Power Show. More than 200 booths will display equipment and services for farm and country living.
