Braves to state; Aces still alive
Top seed Waseca held off the Owatonna Aces 10-9 on Sunday to a trip to the state tournament. It was the Aces first loss in the double-elimination tournament.
#2 seed Owatonna rallied for four runs in the 9th inning, but fell just short of the Braves. Waseca earns a trip to the state tournament with the win. Owatonna continues in the tournament on Saturday August 9 vs the winner of the Stewartville-Racine vs Wanimingo game. The team that survives Saturday will need to beat Waseca twice on Sunday to earn the top seed from Region 5C for state.
