Longtime Owatonna doctor John McIntyre had a tumultuous early life and served on the front lines in Europe during World War I. After the war ended in 1918, he stayed in France, continuing his studies until he was discharged from the Army in 1919. He had a 50-year career as a doctor in Owatonna, and died in 1974.
