Top-ranked Rushford-Peterson dominated play for the start and advances to the state Class A title game for the second straight year. Game time is 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The top-seeded Trojans shot poorly in the first half but still led by 13 at the half. Rushford-Peterson outscored the Bluejays 14-7 on points off turnovers in the first half and 22-12 for the game. R-P shot 63 percent in the second after struggling with 29 percent in the first 18 minutes.

Senior Cole Kingsley started the game on the bench due to an ankle injury suffered in the quarterfinal round Thursday. Sophomore Noah Carlson started in his place and responded with a big game. Carlson, who has started at times this season, scored 16 points and had seven steals, five assists, four rebounds and a blocked shot. Senior Kylar Paulson scored 13. Senior Charlie Krambeer and sophomore Matt Culhane each added 11.

This is Rushford-Peterson's 14th appearance at state. For coach Tom Vix, this is the 15th time taking a team to state, counting Rushford's state championship in 1989. That ties him with Ken Novak Jr. for No. 1 on the all-list. R-P won a title in 2006.
